SkillBridge Connect Limited ("SkillBridge", "we", "us") runs the SkillBridge Connect marketplace that connects teachers and learners in Nigeria. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, profile details (bio, location, skills, experience), messages you send through SkillBridge, and reviews you leave.
- Payment information: details needed to process payments and payouts. Card and bank details are handled by our payment partners. We don't store full card numbers.
- Usage information: how you use the app and website, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected to keep the service working and secure.
- Launch list: if you join our launch list, we keep your email address so we can tell you when SkillBridge is available.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and profile
- To connect teachers and learners, and to enable bookings, messaging and reviews
- To process payments, hold funds in escrow and release payouts
- To verify profiles and to prevent fraud, abuse and safety issues
- To provide support and send important service updates
- To send launch news and product updates, which you can opt out of at any time
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With other users, as needed for the service. For example, your public profile and reviews are visible to others, and booking details are shared with the other party to a lesson.
- With service providers who help us run SkillBridge, such as hosting, payment processing and email, under appropriate confidentiality obligations
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users and SkillBridge
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law, for example for financial records. When it's no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@myskillbridge.app. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please keep your account details safe and let us know right away if you suspect unauthorised access.
Children
Users under 18 may use SkillBridge only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know directly.
