Getting started
What is SkillBridge Connect?
SkillBridge Connect is a marketplace, operated by SkillBridge Connect Limited, that connects people in Nigeria who want to teach a skill with people who want to learn one. Lessons are paid, and payments are protected by escrow.
When does the app launch?
SkillBridge Connect is coming soon to the App Store and Play Store. Join the launch list on our homepage and we'll email you when it's live.
Can I be both a teacher and a learner?
Yes. Many people have something to teach and something they want to learn. Right now, teaching and learning are separate accounts, each with its own sign-up and pricing, so you'd need two accounts if you want to do both. We're working on making it possible to do both from a single account in the future.
Payments and escrow
How does escrow work?
When a learner books a lesson, the payment is held securely. It's released to the teacher only after the lesson is confirmed complete.
When do teachers get paid?
Funds are released to the teacher once the lesson is marked complete. Payout timing then depends on your payment method.
What if a lesson doesn't happen?
If a lesson is cancelled or doesn't take place as agreed, contact support. Because payment is held in escrow, we can review the booking and refund the learner where appropriate.
Safety and trust
How are profiles verified?
Every teacher and learner has a real profile with a bio, location and experience. We review profiles and act on reports of fake or misleading accounts.
How do reviews work?
After every session, both the teacher and the learner rate each other, so reputations are earned in both directions.
How do I report a problem with another user?
Email support@myskillbridge.app with details of what happened. We take reports seriously and respond as quickly as we can.
